Children's Ministry Coordinator
Sherri Hamby
Sherri Hamby was called to be our Children’s Ministry Coordinator in August of 2008. She and Woody have been a vital part of First Baptist Whitewright long before she accepted the call to serve in children's ministry leadership. Sherri's gifts and experience make her an obvious choice for this leadership position, and the church family passionately confirmed the pastor's recommendation to commission her as our children's ministry leader. Her passion for the ministry is to partner with parents in reaching children for Christ, to baptize and make disciples of them while they are young. Her vision is that these children will really come to know God's power in their lives. Sherri anticipates the work of God bringing the children of our church family and community to praise and depend on Him daily. She imagines the victories and freedom they will have experienced in their life by the time they reach adulthood.
Sherri is blessed to be married to Woodrow for 41years. They have two daughters. Their daughter Hayley and son-in-law Phil Shope have three children Anna, Hatty, and Cy. Their other daughter Heather and son-in law Paul have two children Olivia and Kennedy.
